All the way back to 2011
Adsellr was officially founded In 2018, however, our roots go back all the way to 2011.
An interview with the founder of Adsellr, Mike.
When and why did you start video editing?
"As a kid, I spent a lot of time on Youtube watching all types of videos. I think what inspired me to get into the film industry myself were those "People are awesome" videos you'd see on Youtube back in those days.
When I first started video editing, I was 11 years old. I would record travelling videos with my gopro and create montages of them for fun to show my family & friends.
I would spend hours on hours just editing a single video.
I would also make CS:GO and COD edits and upload them on Youtube. I think I think I had gained around 3 000 subscribers by the time I was 14."
How did you get into digital marketing?
"At age 15, I heard about fiverr. - I instantly knew it was the next step for me. I knew I wanted to do this for a living, so I started learning about e-commerce, digital marketing and video advertising.
I quickly found success on fiverr selling video advertisements for dropshipping businesses. I worked on fiverr for over 2 years. I gained over 110 5-star reviews and a lot of long-term clients with whom I still work with today.
The biggest project I made was a 30 second advertisement for which I got paid $400. I think that was around the time I realized exactly how crucial unique, brand-oriented video advertisements are for any business.
I knew I wanted to continue what I was doing. I just needed to get the word out. I then realized the next obvious step, which was to scale the business to an independent platform and quit from fiverr. That's when Adsellr was born."
Are You Dropshipping Yourself?
"Apart from Adsellr, I also manage three dropshipping businesses. All of which generate over $20 000 monthly.
I started dropshipping in 2014. It's now 2021, and dropshipping is more saturated than ever.
During my dropshipping journey, I've realized that the determining factor in dropshipping is branding and marketing.
You need to be able to stand out from the constantly expanding crowd. The best way to do that is to showcase unique, brand-oriented video advertisements.
I'm an entrepreneur myself, so I know exactly what goes into structuring a successful ad campaign. I feel sad when I see our competitors sell the same, recycled text & video preset to their customers."
What's your favorite thing about your work?
"The #1 thing I love about my job is the incredible feedback I hear from customers after delivering another video advertisement. I feel like I can provide the best video editing service because I myself am also a dropshipper, so I know what to look for.
I still love video editing, so I still personally edit some of the orders we receive in Adsellr. I've been video editing for over 10 years now, and I don't feel like stopping anytime soon."
